This is regulated by Regulation (EC) No 1072\/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council. According to it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>once an international transport operation has been completed, a maximum of 3 cabotage operations can be carried out within 7 days,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the case of an \"empty\" entry (i.e. with no load on the semi-trailer), 1 cabotage operation within 3 days is permitted,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all transports must be documented (waybills, contracts, cargo data).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, in order to carry out waste cabotage in Spain, any foreign haulier must be registered in their country as a waste haulier and hold a Community licence. The NIMA number is assigned by the competent autonomous authority and must be shown on the documents accompanying the consignment. It is a prerequisite for the preparation of a special national notification of a cabotage transport operation. <strong>The NIMA number is assigned to the company<\/strong>, not to the specific vehicle the company owns and uses to transport the waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cabotage declaration must be made before the start of the operation and the transport documents must be ready to be produced at the roadside check.
