Frequently asked questions

Yes, we obtain permits for Poland and all EU countries.

Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the documents and the requirements of the office.

Most often, company details, vehicle information, waste type and codes are required. We will provide you with a full list of the necessary documents during your consultation.

Generally, waste transport permits are issued for an indefinite period. However, it all depends on the country or the scope of the permit. In Poland, for example, it is possible to obtain a permit to transport all waste from the catalogue for as long as the company exists. However, in Germany, there are two permits - one for hazardous waste and another for neutral waste. The situation is similar in Sweden.

Yes, the authorities in the various countries require that documents sent to them be translated . We cooperate with a translation office that can quote for you for the translation of documents into a specific language. Contact us to ask for details.

POLAND

Yes, in domestic waste transport, the required signage is a plate on the bonnet of the vehicle with the word WASTE. The plate must be white and the dimensions should be 400 mm wide and 300 mm high. Requirements for the lettering: font colour - black, letter height - minimum 100 mm and line width minimum 15 mm.

If, due to technical constraints, it is not possible to install a board of the dimensions mentioned above, a reduction is acceptable:
- board dimensions to a minimum of 300 mm wide and a minimum of 120 mm high;
- height of the wording "WASTE" to a minimum of 80 mm and line width to a minimum of 12 mm.

CROSS-BORDER TRANSPORT

In the case of cross-border transport of waste, a white board of the same dimensions as above is used. However, it shall bear the capital letter "A" in black (from ABFALL - waste). In this case, it must have a minimum height of 200 mm and a minimum line width of 20 mm.

It all depends on the nature of the transport. If you are importing waste from abroad, you must complete a SENT declaration. Similarly, in the case of a delivery in transit, and more recently also in export. In addition to this, remember the standard shipping documents such as a WZ, CMR or similar.

In such a situation, you unfortunately run the risk of heavy financial penalties. In Poland, once obtained, a BDO number is admittedly valid indefinitely, but you must ensure that the data in the permit is up-to-date. If, on the other hand, you undertake to transport waste without a BDO number, it could cost you up to PLN 1 million. In Germany, your wallet can be depleted by several hundred thousand euros for a similar offence. Monitor the validity of your permits and act in advance to be ready for any eventuality. And if you need help renewing your permits, reach out to us.

Unfortunately, there is no such document. Each country sets its own rules for obtaining authorisations to transport waste, but must do so on the basis of guidelines contained in EU legislation, such as Regulation (EU) 2024/1157, which replaced Regulation 1013/2006.

As far as Poland is concerned, the waste transporter does not incur additional costs for the permit. Such costs in the form of registration and/or annual fee and product fee are borne by other entities registered with BDO. As far as other countries are concerned, in Denmark, there is an annual fee for being on the waste carriers' register. In the case of Italy, on the other hand, it is necessary to pay annually for the services of a representative who takes care of the company's account in the hauliers' database there.
